What are Venturi detergents and what are their uses?

Venturi detergents are used to separate solid particles of pollutant gas using a liquid stream.

Their function is based on the mechanism of collision and adsorption due to tangential contact of dust particles by water droplets.
In Venturi washers, gas containing particles passes through a small tube with a narrow center and a wide end. This contraction causes the gas flow to accelerate as the pressure increases. The difference in velocity and pressure after contraction causes the particles and water to mix and blend together. Reducing the velocity in the expansion portion of the nozzle allows water droplets containing particles to escape from the gas stream.

Venturi detergents are effective for separating small particles with a separation efficiency of over 99%.
One of the drawbacks of this device is the production of wastewater.
